Welcome to the School Support Center!

The School Support Center serves as a liaison between Central Office partners and school staff by providing excellent training, contact-center support, Premium Services and advocacy in all areas relating to school business operations. We also provide strategic planning and communication support to ensure effective implementation of Central Office priorities, policies, and programs at the school level.

We are pleased to offer our Premium Services for the 2011-2012 school year!

Due to the popularity of this program, in which more than 100 schools participated enthusiastically last year, we are continuing our Premium Services for the 2011-2012 school year. This year, we are expanding our customer base by offering Premium Services to Network Offices, Charter Schools and Contract Schools!

We are happy to announce the School Support Center's Phase 2 launch!

As part of the phase two launch of the SSC, we are adding the following new services:
 

1. Single Number Accessibility: You now only need to dial one number, 773-535-5800, district-wide to reach the SSC staff. You will then be prompted to access your specific SSC by selecting your collaborative followed by the service option of your choice. We will still have three SSC locations dedicated to serving the five collaboratives. The SSC/collaborative support alignment is as follows:

• SSC North (1900 North Austin): North/Northwest Side Collaborative and West Side Collaborative
• SSC Central (4655 South Dearborn): South Side Collaborative and Alternative Network
• SSC South (11424 South Western): Southwest Side Collaborative and Far South Side Collaborative
   

2. Increased Support: We have increased our resources and capabilities to help you with your needs in Budget, Procurement and Finance (Internal Accounts) functions.

3. Human Resources Support : HR Generalists and HR Specialists provided by the Talent Office will offer training and consultative support to Network Chiefs and principals in the following areas:

• Workforce Planning
• Talent Calibration
• HR Systems and Policies
• Candidate Sourcing
• Transfers
• Performance Evaluation and Renewal Process
   

4. Safety & Security Pilot: In partnership with the CPS Safety & Security Team, the SSC will be implementing a proactive resource designed to support principals with the development of safe school strategies. The services provided to school principals are as follows:

• Assist principals with developing and managing a coordinated security program at their schools.
• Perform school security evaluations and walkthroughs.
• Provide classroom training and support to school principals and security staff on Emergency Management Planning and Safe School Planning.
• Over time, we want to include even more functions (such as Facilities and IT).
